Last month one of the scheduled speakers for the devs.gent November meetup fell sick and had to cancel. At the very last-minute I jumped in with a new talk “Animatable Accordions”.

# The Talk
The talk I gave is a full-length talk of a little over 20 minutes. It’s about animating the <details>
element with transition-behavior: allow-discrete
, interpolate-size: allow-keywords
, and ::details-content
. Combine ’m and you can build things such as this demo:
The talk is based on the following articles I wrote:
- Exclusive Accordion
- Animate to height: auto; (and other intrinsic sizing keywords) in CSS
- More options for styling <details>

# Slides
The slides of my talk are up on slidr.io are embedded below:
Unfortunately these exported slides don’t contain any recordings of the included demos, but you can follow the links to check them out yourself.

# Thanks!
Thanks to Bert from the organizing team to have me once again and thanks to the audience for hearing me out. It was good to see both new and familiar faces at the event. Coincidentally the event was hosted at the Technical University where I used to teach at, so as a bonus I ran into a bunch of my former colleagues as well 🙂
